Some environments house more threads of a particular element, giving it the potential for more power. Each thread that spins through our world represents a different element or “type” of magic. The more interesting question is how one taps into different types of magic. This leaves the possibility for anyone to try, but the self inflicted injuries of poor magic use usually persuade all but the prodigies away from the art from. Similar to any other talent, a privileged few can gain mastery of the craft while many simply lose step and struggle with the bare fundamentals. Simply put, yes, but more difficult to explain is how effective one might be at it. The question that burns in most people’s mind though is “Can anyone use magic?”. The act of casting magic often appears as a passionate dance as the user finds and strums the threads of magic around them.

The real challenge of magic is tuning one’s self to these threads and discovering how to interact with them. One must only pull at this thread to force a reaction. Imagine if you will, millions of invisible threads weaved throughout the world radiating with energy. Magic flows all around us in our daily lives. As a magic “wielder” one simply commands, never creates. One only need to analyze the name to begin to understand the relationship of magic to user. It has become a common misconception that magic wielders produce the actual magic when casting. The only difference - missing a note on a violin never left an audience burnt to a crisp.
The art of magic can be as natural as that of playing an instrument.
