

The Elmhurst Road project was chosen for construction to utilize funds left-over from construction cost savings at the end of the fiscal year. The WisDOT fiscal year ends on June 30ᵗʰ. Why not build the bridge in one year? Why the winter shutdown? Single lane closures will also be needed periodically.

An example of an operation that would require full closure would be demolition of the old bridge. Full closures of the interstate will happen overnight as needed.
